bah-BOB

Jude has a new favorite thing-- watching Bob the Tomato from Veggie Tales. These animated life lessons use scripture to teach kids about sharing, being nice, including people who are different and yes, vegetables. The best part is Kara doesn't mind watching them because they're actually funny and well-written. We expected them to be a hit after hearing stories of Jude's cousin Olivia and her obsession with these stories.

After watching one too many wind-up dancing bears on Baby Einstein, we made a run to Target. We purchased two Veggie videos with birthday money from Jude's Great Uncle Pete and Great Aunt Fran.

Kara made up Jude's Easter basket and tucked in another Veggie Tales video. The big day would also be Jude's first real taste of chocolate. So we thought the whole basket would be a hit.

On Easter morning Jude saw his Easter Basket and quickly pulled out the DVD.
Thanks Easter Bunny!

He completely ignored the rest of his basket and walked over to his "Jude" chair where he sits and views his daily video.

uh jude...the basket & your parents are over here

"if you like to talk with Tomatoes..."

Kara had to snap a picture of his basket filled with chocolate peanut butter eggs, sitting untouched for 20 minutes.
no love for me

Jude now expresses his daily desire to see Veggie Tales by saying bah bob. Apparently one word is just not enough. Kara thinks he is actually saying Bobby because he is so comfortable with his new friend Bob that he can refer to him by nicknames already.
Today was a new veggie milestone. Jude got his first Veggie Tale books, a set of four. And of course the one he cared about and fell asleep with on the way home, was Bob.
